Day 1: Arrival - Siem Reap in Flight
Arrival at the airport of SIEM REAP, welcome by our French or English speaking guide and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 2: Siem Reap - Rolous Group and Ta Prohm
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the pre-Angkorian (9th century) Roluos: Bakong, Prah Ko, and Lolei. Free lunch. Followed by the visit of the most amazing temples of the whole site of Angkor, the Ta Prohm, the Ta keo, lost in lush vegetation, as well as the temples of Neak Pean, Preah Khan, and Thommanon. Day 3: Siem Reap - Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat
Your Siem Reap Explorer tour starts with the ancient Angkor temples. Our experienced tour guide shares their incredible history and shows you all the important sites. Soak in the beauty of the Angkor Thom complex, the ancient Khmer empire’s last capital city. Within its walls you visit the many faces of Bayon and walk along the Elephant Terrace past Baphuon Temple and view the elephant sculptures and the terrace of the leper king.
After lunch , explore the shady ruins of Ta Prohm and the clash of nature and civilization where giant trees grow up between the walls. Finish the day at the famed Angkor Wat temple, one of the ancient wonders of the world.
Day 4: Siem Reap - Banteay Srei - Kbal Spean
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion in the morning to the temple of Banteay Srey the "City of Women", a jewel of pink sandstone entirely carved, dedicated to Shiva and built in the 10th century by King Jayavarman V, passing by the temple of Prasat Kravan built in the year 921. Free lunch Continuation of the visit (if the state of the road permits) to go to Kbal Spien continue our journey on foot, after approximately 40 minutes walk; we will hear the sound of a waterfall. We will discover that the riverbed and the rocks around us are covered with carvings representing the gods of the Brahma religion dating back as far as the 11th century; it’s the "thousand Lingas Rivers". The water runs over the sculptures of Vishnu, Lakshmi, Hanuman, Rama and many Lingas, which were carved in stone in the past to sanctify the water and to thank the gods for their gift. The sound of a small waterfall temps to follow the river further through the small gorge. Using bamboo stairs to pass a few escarped passages we finally discover the beautiful waterfall.
After this visit, we will go to Banteay Samré, with elaborate architecture and exceptional carvings. Free dinner. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5: Siem Reap - Kompong Khleang
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to the floating village of Kompong Khleang, located about fifty kilometers from Siem Reap, taking a road through typical Cambodian landscapes. The opportunity to observe the Cambodian rural life happens over the water that flows in the rice paddies. A walk outside the marked trails in the village of Kompong Khleang. A real immersion in the Cambodian culture with the meeting of the villagers, the discovery of their rhythm of life and their tradition. Departure for an excursion on the Tonlé Sap through the canals. Discovery of the floating houses and the local life of the inhabitants. Free lunch. On the way back, you will visit Artisan Artisan of Angkor and Psar Chas. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6: Siem Reap - Koh Ker Temple - Preah Vihear
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer directly to Preah Vihear, on the way, you will visit the temple of Beng Mealea one of the most interesting temples off the Angkor site, almost as big as Angkor Wat but quite collapsed by place. This temple is largely invaded by the jungle which makes it an extremely romantic place and such as met the discoverers of Angkor more than a hundred years ago and preserved as is. Discover the temple of Koh Ker, (about 3 hours drive in the countryside). This ancient capital of Cambodia in the 9th century, was recently opened to tourism. Dominated by a mountain temple of 30m high the Prasat Thom, and surrounded by several small temples partly cracked or partly collapsed. Free dinner and overnight in Preah Vihear.
Day 7: Visit the Temple of Preah Vihear - Siem Reap
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel early destined towards Prasat Preah Vihear, then you will take the road access by 4x4 which winds the mountain is very steep by location, and suddenly joins the first enclosure walls of the most spectacular of the temples mountains. You will explore on foot the temple, wonderfully preserved. Some tourists cross the Thai border every day to visit it, but most will have left the place for a long time and you will have the privilege of pacing the fabulous complex alone. You will continue your discovery to the top, clinging to the cliffs of the Dangrek mountain, which culminates a few hundred meters above the Cambodian plains. The different panoramas from the most vertiginous of the temples mountains are of a beauty to take your breath away. Free lunch Continue on the road to Along Veng, the former Khmer Rouge bastion until the end of the civil war in 1998, visit the house of former Khmer Rouge leader Ta Mok and the grave of Brother Number 1, Pol Pot . Day 8: Siem Reap - Battambang ( lunch included)
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure by private boat on the large lake of Tonle Sap and on the river Sangker, lined with houses on stilts, until Battambang. You will discover the floating fishing villages and their traditional fishing techniques. During the dry season (February to June), navigation only on the Tonlé Sap and continuation by road to Battambang. Night in Battambang.
Day 9: Battambang - Visit
Breakfast at the hotel. Day of discovery of another Cambodia. Visit Battambang, a charming town with elegant French colonial houses along the river. Visit of the provincial museum and the Angkorian temple of Wat Ek Phnom of the 11th century. Then drive along the river to the temple of Prasat Banon where you will admire a beautiful panoramic landscape. The afternoon in favor of the Bamboo train. A 20-minute tour through the countryside by this picturesque means of transport, using the railways built by the French once. On arrival, walk through the countryside to discover the local life. Return to Battambang, then visit one of the oldest houses in the city. Free dinner. Night in Battambang.
Day 10: Battambang - Siem Reap - Depart
Breakfast at the hotel. Return in the morning from Battambang to Siem Reap en route with guide. Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport 2 hours before your international flight back.
